I love Ugly Betty. I love its leading lady, actress America Ferrera and I love furniture (sad I know, but true), so this news nugget is right up my street (which unlike America, I’m not going to spell out for you.) Turns out the ugly duckling known as Betty Suarez wasn’t expecting to become the television superstar she is, and so when she fancied flogging some unwanted home furnishings she went public. The 23-year-old has admitted that she advertised her furniture online, complete with her home address, much to the horror of her publicist.
Ferrara explains: “I was moving into a new apartment and I wanted to sell some furniture and I put it on [community website] Craig’s List.”My publicist called me: ‘Did you post your furniture on Craig’s List?!’ I said, ‘Yes, is there something wrong with that?’ ‘You can’t post your furniture on Craig’s List, people know who you are and you’re giving them your address.’ “I just had no idea.” Yes, that’s all very well America, but let’s keep our focus here – did you sell the furniture and if not, how much are you asking for it?
